Process

The moodboard is designed to set the tone for the collection which is aimed at a consumer between the ages of 20-27.

In my design process, I like creating something I call a “Form Board”. It helps me guide the design language and style that I want to translate into my sketches and final details.

Initial Ideation

For the initial ideation phase, I focused on exploring different sole and upper combinations, along with experimenting with various cut styles. Volume was a key element I wanted to emphasize, so I used design lines inspired by the Form Board as a foundation and began sketching to push the concept forward.

Contrasting textures - Combining smooth lines with rugged tread designs, as well as textured panels to emphasize boldness and material changes.

Technical fabrics - Design incorporates breathable, weather-resistant materials with a lightweight feel for active, urban lifestyles.

Innovative Lacing Systems - Designs integrate distinct lacing systems to give the design a unique edge and set it apart from others in the market, both in terms of functionality and visual impact

Cut Styles - Experimentation with various cut heights, allowing for flexibility in performance and style. The different cut styles offer support for rugged activities or a more urban, fashion-forward appeal.

Final Collection

This collection features three different styles, each showcasing a unique approach to lacing systems, an element I found essential to explore further. The designs highlight a variety of shoe silhouettes and innovative, playful lacing techniques. and material applications that set them apart.
